European Tour 2004

Day 2

We started the day with Ferdie (our driver) trying to load the 3 basses and 8 cellos on the bus.  We got 2 basses and 8 cellos on, but had to get a truck to get the 3rd bass to the concert sight.  At that point, Kate (our fabulous guide) realized we were going to need a truck or a bus with a trailer to get all our luggage and instruments to each city!  After we got the instruments set,  we started our morning with a walking tour of Prague.  We saw many sights including spots where Mission Impossible was filmed.  We stopped for a group photo on Charles Bridge.

At the conclusion of the tour, we had some free time for lunch and shopping.  Our guide also let us know where we could find FREE restrooms!

We caught a few EPSA members trying on Czech hats!

With the basses having arrived about 11:00PM on Day 1, it was now time for our first concert.  We performed at the Friedensplatz for a large crowd.

The Crowd loved the concert especially the Slavonic Dances and the Moldau!

There was only one problem during the concert - Wind.  We started the concert with 3 basses each having their own stand.  With in minutes we were down to 3 basses on two stands.

and then there was....

3 basses, 1 stand, and Krista holding the stand!!!

We then loaded the basses and cellos into the truck that would take them to Cesky Krumlov.

Following the concert, our guide took us to a building not far away for FREE bathrooms.  Nobody was used to having to play to use the restrooms, so when free bathrooms were available, most took advantage!  It was then when one brave EPSA female student was the first on the tour to use the men's restroom!

We boarded the bus and as Ferdie was backing out, he flattened a street sign.  OOPS

We did some more sightseeing of Prague followed by a two hour dinner cruise on the Moldau!

(Someone send me a Picture or 2)

We then walked through Prague Castle, saw the city from above and made the guards laugh.  Those poor guards - they never knew what was coming!

(Send me a picture)
