2007-2008 Audition Information Auditions are required of all students who wish to be in the Intermezzo, Divertimento or Concertino Orchestras. Students of any age are encouraged to audition. Auditions will be held on: Thursday, September 6 - 4:00 - 8:00pm Sunday, September 9 - 5:30 - 8:00pm Prairie Lutheran Church (11000 Blossom Road, Eden Prairie)
Call 952-947-9400 to schedule an audition or email michelle@epstringacademy.org listing your preferred date and time. Auditions will last approximately five to eight minutes.
Playing requirements: One unaccompanied solo piece. One major scale of conductor’s choice as many octaves as you can Concertino - 3 octave minor scale of conductors choice in addition to 3 octave major scale. Brief rhythmic & melodic sight reading excerpt provided at the audition. *Your solo should be your most difficult, but polished piece. Remember, it is not what you play, but how well you play it! *Students must audition each year regardless of previous participation. Previous participation in EPSA does not guarantee placement. Students will be placed in an orchestra based on their audition. |
